If you think it could be part of a pen blank, someone has probably tried to cast it! There are dozens of materials that can be used to turn into pen blanks, but some of our stock favorites are banksia pods, corn cobs, cholla cactus, coffee beans, shredded money, pasta noodles, and split peas. We also keep a variety of pine cones and sweet gum balls on hand for specialty orders. Often times, embedded materials have to be dried, stabilized, or sealed in some way prior to casting to avoid an adverse chemical reaction with urethane resins.
Check out our blank molds or block molds if you would like to try it! If not that adventurous, we usually have a variety of embedded material blanks in stock.
